The weather finally cooperated following our attempt to drive inland and changed plans on the fly and went to Monterrey where it wasn't raining and the sun was shining. Had a nice drive from Monterrey south, all along the coast. Drove the 17 mile drive through Pebble Beach area. The 2 - 40 million dollar homes are amazing! Aunt Jane's parents moved to this area in 1939 before the war began, but because of the imminent war in Europe. They moved from California after Pearl Harbor was bombed because of their fear that California would be the center of the war. However, when they lived in California, this is the area they lived in and loved. It is very easy to love this area!
We had lunch at Sticks at the Spanish Bay Golf Club and a nice salad at home for dinner. Tomorrow, we're headed down the coast to Rocky Point. Dad is doing well and having a good time. He can remove his oxygen for an hour or so when he's stationary or eating a meal due to being at sea level. He said it's a bit scary not to have it on, but it's never far away.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a beautiful weather day...it will be great despite the weather! Here are a few photos from our day.
Almost a week on the road and you and Dad have seen more than many Americans will see in their life. Such a beautiful area and the weather usually cooperates as I'm sure it will for you. I'm sure sticks was good $$$ as most golf courses have much better food than most regular restaurants. Warm here today but rain and a good cool down Thursday through Saturday. Glad you guys are doing well and having fun. Such a great trip for both of you. Thanks for the daily updates and keep going well. Love you.
