Friday 5/19

We left the house around 10:30am and drove to Oceanside on this fabulous sunshiney day with the temperature in the 90's inland, but in the low 70's near the vast Pacific Ocean. Although we didn't get our usual perfect parking spot, it was perfect enough to watch the waves crash into the rocky wall and be able to take a walk along the boardwalk. A couple hours of sun and sea air is just what any doctor would order! It was beautiful.

We then went for another "first" for dad - his first Double Double at Inn-N-Out Burger! He doesn't remember ever eating at Inn-N-Out and we decided that this trip was calling for just that.  We each had a Double Double with fries, and dad had a chocolate shake of course!  That was our lunch and dinner with dad eating 1/2 of the last piece of Julian apple pie we'd had delivered for dessert.  He'll have the last 1/2 piece tomorrow night with creamy vanilla ice cream. Dad did get another hour or so of patio time when we returned from the ocean with our entertainment being Bailey trying to catch Larry, the lizard...to no avail, as usual.
