Monday 5/15

The weather is on the cool side and we all slept in a bit and relaxed this morning before heading to my former place of employment, Pala Casino Spa and Resort.  Dad wanted to go as he and mom had spent about a week in the hotel several years back. It is truly a beautiful property - probably the prettiest and cleanest hotel and casino in Southern California. We walked the whole property and many fond memories rushed through my brain.  I saw a few people on the floor who remembered me and hugs, words and glances were shared. We dropped our obligatory money in the slots and I was happy to walk away with more money than I walked in with. Dad had some fun on a few slots before we left to return home and I made shepherds pie for dinner.  We ate too much...again...with dad and Jeanne topping off the evening with gelato. I think dad is tired so we may take it easy the next few days - besides, it may rain tomorrow and it won't be patio weather again until maybe Thursday or Friday when it should be in the high 80's / low 90's. Dad tells me every night that this has been the best trip and he's so grateful. It has been the best trip and I am the one who is grateful. Words cannot express...
