Thursday 5/11

We began this glorious day at Mo's Egg House in Temecula for a delicious, but huge breakfast. As you can see in the photo, dad enjoyed his very fresh strawberry waffle with a side of bacon. We all ate too much, but the food was great. We then headed back over the Ortega Highway and stopped for awhile at an overlook spot to view the boats and other activity at Dana Point Marina. The weather was a perfect 70 degrees with the sun shining bright.
We made a visit to Carmen Oyharzabal, a dear friend of my grandma's when she was alive. Carmen is, like dad, 90 years old. She stays very busy volunteering her time. She said as long as she can help others, she wants to live. We had a delightful afternoon with her and then drove to San Clemente for a quick view of the pier and other parts of this lovely beach city. After finding San Juan Hills golf course for dad (he played there many years ago), we made our way home for a very light bite to eat...another small piece of Julian pie while relaxing before bedtime.
